Sell at Radish Farm Stop

We’re looking for producers to help us grow the local food economy

We’d love for you to join us in building a more sustainable food system.

We’re trying to do something a little different here at Radish. We operate on a consignment model which means producers set the price, and own their products until sale.

Radish Farm Stop takes 30% of the sales price to support operating expenses, while producers receive 70% of the sales price for their goods. Through this relationship, Radish Farm Stop is a steward of farmers’ produce and small businesses’ products. Consumers are buying directly from producers.

Operating year round in Minnesota gives our farms an outlets to sell all winter. The interface that we provide between the customer and the farmer also maintains farm identity with the customer.

To help support a fair distribution and good stewardship of shelf space, there is a nominal shelf fee per producer. Most producers will pay $5 in shelf fees every 14 days, or ~$130 total per year.

Shelf fees are tiered in correlation to the number of unique SKUs and sales volume you sell during a pay period (every 14 days) - this will be waived for the first two payouts as part of your introduction, and then will proceed according to the following guidelines:

  • Tier 3: If net sales are $500 or less, and you have 15 SKUs or less, within a 14 day period - $5 per payout.

  • Tier 2: If a producer's net sales are between $500 and $1,000, and you have 15 SKUs or less within a 14 day period - $10 per payout.

  • Tier 1: If net sales are $1,000 or greater, or if the producer has more than 15 SKUs for sale within a 14 day period - $15 per payout.

Why a consignment based model?

  • The Farm Stop model is rooted in partnership: community working together to strengthen the local food system. Consignment fosters a more collaborative and less transactional relationship with producers, and improves transparency for customers.

Advantages to consignment:

  • Customers are able to directly support producers, at prices the producer sets.

  • We work collaboratively with producers to establish their product mix and sales strategy .

  • Producers are able to experiment more with their offerings and trial items like you would at a farmers market

  • We are able to be more agile, and support more producers

  • We represent every producer carefully, taking care of the stocking, merchandising, and ordering, so you can focus on your products.

While we prioritize consignment partnerships as they are critical to supporting our mission, we will occasionally work with producers in a wholesale capacity if they are selling through the cafe or operate at a scale that does not make consignment possible.

How to apply to sell your products through Radish Farm Stop:

We are currently at capacity for our initial group of producers when we open June— but, I still encourage you to apply! We will continue to accept producers on a rolling basis, and would love to carry your products as we have space. We want to ensure we can represent each producer we bring on well, dedicating the appropriate time and care to stewardship of their products. As a result, we made the difficult decision to limit the number of producers we open with to ensure everyone has the best experience possible.

Reach out if you have any questions, we’d love to work with you!
