About Lily

I’m the Founder and General Manager of Radish Farm Stop.

Growing up, the kitchen was a gathering place for my family. It was where we talked through challenges, worked on homework, and learned how to cook our favorite recipes.

I think a lot of this was because of my parent’s backgrounds: My mom came from a family of dairy farmers, and my dad’s grandparents owned a Scottish bakery in Detroit. This meant that they grew up with an understanding of where their food came from, and knowledge of what went into producing quality products. For each of them, this resulted in a desire to share their appreciation of food with us. So, we tried our best to maintain a Midwest backyard garden, and retain secret Scottish baking traditions.

I grew up fascinated with food and wanting to understand how the food system impacts our environment and wellbeing. So, In college, I took every class I could that covered food or environmental issues, worked on a farm, researched bee population decline…I was such a nerd about it, my friends started calling me “the bee girl.” After school, I buzzed around in food systems roles, looking for the perfect place to land and help make positive change.

I couldn't find it. So, I decided to create it.

After several years of planning Radish Farm Stop while refining my retail skills as a produce manager, we’re almost there.
